DESCRIPTION:The Ogemaw County Museum is initiating a new award named the "Preserve Our Heritage" award.\n\nThis award will recognize individuals\, groups or organizations that have made outstanding efforts to preserve\, renovate\, enhance\, educate about or research the history (heritage) of Ogemaw County.\n\n \n\nJanuary 1 through May 31 of each year\, nominations may be made by anyone who feels that a significant action has been done to earn the award.  The nomination form may be picked up from the Ogemaw County Museum. The nomination will require a description of the project that deserves the award\, by showing an outstanding effort toward "Preserving the Heritage" of Ogemaw County. \n\n \n\nThe first "Preserve Our Heritage" award will be presented on July 4\, 2014 immediately following the 6 pm parade in West Branch.  The fourth of July was chosen as the day to make the presentation\, as it is such a significant heritage date for our country.  Many areas of Ogemaw County have celebrations with parades that day.
